Teacher
Abby is the only veteran teacher on the Seminole County School Board. She spent 35 years working for the Department of Education, in addition to 26 years in the classroom! A majority of those years were in Seminole County Public Schools.
Parent
Abby is a proud mother of three children who all graduated from Seminole County Public Schools. She understands what it’s like to advocate for your own child’s education, AND how vital parent support can be in the classroom.
Proven Leader
Abby is a voice for our SCPS teachers. She is not afraid to talk to Tallahassee to defend our students and schools. Abby prioritizes spending as much time on campuses as possible, whether she is lending an extra hand in the classroom or helping run the reception desks. Being on campus allows Abby to hear more about our schools from staff, students, and teachers.
“Compassionate, experienced, teacher, leader…”
“…those are a few of the words I would use to describe SCPS School Board member Abby Sanchez. I am a Seminole County Public School teacher and had the pleasure of working side by side with Abby in our fifth-grade class for many years. I know that Abby has the knowledge of how schools really work, passion for student success, and the firsthand perspective of SCPS families. Abby inspires students to achieve academically but is also dedicated to students’ emotional well-being.”
